In May of 2011 Chefs’ Michael Prete and Matt Greco started the award winning 'The Kitchen on Islington' in Portsmouth, NH. featured on The Food Networks, 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' and 'Phantom Gourmet'. Winning Seacoast Best Restaurant in 2017 from New Hampshire Magazine.

When being the premiere corporate catering company pushed to Weddings and other events the two created 'Portsmouth Catering Co.' in 2013. Since then the demand for catering has grown and the emphasis on offering unique craft food was compounded. 


Hailing from a boutique catering company called Chef & Co. and private chef background, Michael has cooked for celebrities, politicians and overseas big business clients. His approach on catering differs from traditional caterers with his no menu approach. Each Client has a tailor-made menu designed around their likes/dislikes, time of year for local growers, theme of the event, service plan as well as front of house planning precision from partnered company, 

'Love Affair' also based in the seacoast of New Hampshire. 

Then of course, to round out the needs of his clients, the newly formed, 'Hawthorne & Tapper' bar & mixology services are available to clients as well. Extremely grateful their clients see what he sought out to do, they awarded Portsmouth Catering Co. peoples choice 'Caterer of the Year' four years straight since inception from TASTE Magazine.
