Chef Michael Prete was the founding owner and designer of the famed 'The Kitchen on Islington' in Portsmouth, NH. featured on The Food Networks, 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' and 'Phantom Gourmet'. Winning Seacoast Best Restaurant in 2017 from New Hampshire Magazine and then Peoples Choice Best Chef, TASTE Magazine, The Kitchen has become a part of the Seacoast culinary scene. Since then, Michael has opened The Kitchen Andover, in Andover NH and continues to create memorable meals in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire.
When being the premiere corporate catering company pushed to Weddings and other events 'Portsmouth Catering Co.' was born. Since then, the demand for catering has grown and the emphasis on offering unique craft food was compounded.
Since starting in 2013, PCC was awarded 'Peoples choice Caterer of the Year' 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and thanks to the amazing people who keep voting 2019 as well!
Hailing from a boutique catering company called Chef & Co. and private chef background, Michael has cooked for celebrities, politicians and overseas big business clients. His approach on catering differs from traditional caterers with his no menu approach. Each Client has a tailor-made menu designed around food they love, time of year for local growers, theme of the event, ethnic, or dietary needs and then a custom tailored menu is created for you to edit and add additional tweaks.
Then of course, to round out the needs of his clients, the newly formed, 'Hawthorne & Tapper' bar & mixology services are available to clients as well.
